The first Pinoy Henyo: Battle of the Champions is a one-day special edition that was held on 31 March 2012.
The edition brought back the three winning pairs of the 2011 editions of Pinoy Henyo: Intercollegiate Edition, Pamilyang Pinoy Henyo, and Pinoy Henyo High: Alumni Edition to compete in a game against each other that would determine the "best of the best" in the Pinoy Henyo series.
Jing Cubilla and Jian Cubilla of Pamilyang Pinoy Henyo was declared as the ultimate champion of the competition. The siblings were then brought back to compete against new opponents of two recently concluded Pinoy Henyo editions in the second Battle of the Champions on July 2012.
The competition was held on Saturday, 31 March 2012. It was primarily hosted by Vic Sotto, while backstage hosting was conducted by Allan K, Keempee de Leon, and Anjo Yllana.
The three pairs who competed in the competition were Acoy San Francisco and Phina Corral of Pinoy Henyo: Intercollegiate Edition, Jing and Jian Cubilla of Pamilyang Pinoy Henyo, and Dennis Racelis and Dhang Lucelo of Pinoy Henyo High: Alumni Edition.
All three pairs were given the same set of ten words. Players of each pair must take turns in order to guess as much words as they can from two categories within the three-minute time limit. One person was assigned the category "Lugar", while the other was assigned "Tao". Pairs can opt to pass, but they cannot return to those skipped words. The pair with the most words wins the game.
In case of a tie in the number of words, the time of the first word guessed will be the deciding factor of the winner. Whichever pair guesses the first word the fastest ultimately wins the game.
Joey de Leon was tasked to be a technical judge to identify any violations and keep track of the time for each word. Violations may include providing responses other than "oo", "hindi" or "pwede" and using unnecessary gestures that may provide clues to the guesser.
Siblings Jing and Jian Cubilla of Pamilyang Pinoy Henyo were the winning players of the competition after guessing nine words within 2 minutes, 53 seconds. They received a lightbulb-shaped trophy and ₱100,000 in cash prize. Half of their winnings was given to EBest scholars.
